PROGRAM DETAILS

Steve Nash Youth Basketball - a national youth basketball program designed to develop fundamental skills, sportsmanship, and a love of the game of basketball. This Canada Basketball grassroots initiative empowers community basketball groups, facilities, and clubs across Canada in effort to positively influence youth through the sport of basketball.

The model for Steve Nash Youth Basketball (SNYB) is based on an extensive reveiw of exsisting community basketball programs across North America. As a result, the SNYB curriculum is flexible enough to allow organizations to adapt the program to their needs and resources while remaining aligned with Sports Canada Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Model.
  • Enrollment in this program is endorsed and sanctioned by Steve Nash, Canada Basketball, and all provincial and territorial organizations, and Sport Canda                                                           

  • Proven curriculum aligned with the LTAD Model

  • The SNYB program is a skill development house leauge that focuses on developing skils and involves skill sessions as well as competitions and game day

  • Each session is 1.5 hrs long and is divided into skill sessions & game play

  • 12 Sessions long (includes HVBC's End of Season Tournament)

  • Ages vary based on session

  • N.C.C.P. Certified instructors

  • Reversible SNYB jersey, basketball, drawstring bag, certificate, and poster

  • League focuses on helping youth develop their basketball skills through practice in game situations



SUNDAY HALIFAX LOCATION & TIMES

  • St. Andrew's Community Centre - 3380 Barnsted Lane, Halifax, NS

  • Sunday Mornings and Afternoons

  • 8-15 years olds: 11:00pm - 12:30pm

  • Drop off is anytime after 10:45am, Pick up is at 12:30pm

Please Note: Locations of house league is subject to change depending on the final number of participants. We will do our best to remain at the current location, but we cannot make any guarantees.

CASH - Please submit payment to HVBC (see address listed below)

CHEQUE - Please make all cheques payable to Halifax Vipers Basketball Club (see the address listed below), Please Note: Any cheque returned NSF are subject to a $30.00 service charge.

E-MAIL MONEY TRANSFER (EMT) - Please send all e-mail money transfers to cgabriel@halifaxvipersbasketball.ca using the password of basketball

CREDIT CARD - Only Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, or Discover Card are accepted. Credit Card Security - All card information is submitted vis SSL (Secure Sockets Layer- the gold standard for transmitting data online) to our 3rd party gateway providers. No card information is stored within the registration platform itself. We use three gateway providers Authorize.net, Paypal and Pay Flow Pro

PLEASE NOTE - all processing fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. We have included the Online (3.5% of the total amount + $2.00) or OFFLINE processing ($5.65 fee into our prices. For information regarding refunds, please see our Terms & Conditions. If you ask for a refund or if we have to refund you your fees, they will NOT include a refund of any processing charges.

YOUTH FAMILY & REFERRAL DISCOUNT

Family Discount - Sign up family members and receive $20.00 off one family member's registration for every additional familiy member registered. Please enter SIBLING into the Discount Code section on the final registration page. FAmily discount cannot be used in conjuction with the early bird deadline or any other promotional offer.

Referral Discount - Refer a friend to our House League and receive $30.00 off your camp session. The participant must not be already registered for the current season House League to be considered for the referral discount. Please enter REFERRAL into the Discount Code section on the final registration page. Referral discount cannot be used in conjuction with the early bird deadline or any other promotional offer.

NEED ASSISTANCE WITH THE PROGRAM FEES?

KidSport Canada is an organization that can assist you if you are unable to participate in this program because of financial barriers. Applications must be submitted 45 days prior to activity start date.

  • The KidSport grant covers only HVBC's House League programs which are 12 Week long.

  • The grant covers up to $300 per child, per calendar year.

  • The documentation that applicants need to provide are:
  1. KidSport Grant Application
  2. Completed Halifax Vipers Basketball Club House League Registration receipt.
  3. Income verification - Notice of Assessment  or Tax Summary sheet OR authorization from the Department of Community Services
